SNP IS ALTERNATIVE TO PAIN OF AUSTERITY

A vote for the SNP on 7th May is a vote to safeguard the most vulnerable people in society, says Angus Brendan MacNeil SNP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar.
Mr MacNeil points to manifesto commitments which SNP MPs will pursue at Westminster, using their influence to reverse the inequality in UK society.
Commenting Angus MacNeil said:
“The SNP proposes a real alternative to the pain of austerity, with SNP influence ensuring a fairer and more compassionate society.
“The SNP will call for the pension triple lock to be retained, ensuring the State Pension increased each year in line with inflation, wages or by 2.5%, whichever is higher,” he promised.
“We will also support an increase in Carers’ Allowance so that if matches jobseekers’ allowance, meant that those in receipt of Carers’ Allowance will benefit by almost £600 per year.
“An increase in the minimum wage to £8.70 by 2020 and action on exploitative zero-hours contracts are also important commitments in the SNP Manifesto.
“With continued opposition to the iniquitous Bedroom Tax high on the SNP’s agenda, a strong SNP group at Westminster will prioritise protecting the vulnerable and help hard-pressed families.”
