Group leader councillor Gordon Murray expressed his delight at the appointment saying, “Councillor Mitchell is one of the most hard-working councillors in the Comhairle. His commitment to rural areas and his ward is exceptional and I am delighted in how well he is doing from feedback from his constituents and colleagues.”
Councillor Mitchell was elected in May 2017. He retired from teaching in 2013 after spending 42 years in the profession.
