Stornoway Primary spatial issues

Western isles council SNP group welcomed the decision by the council administration to look at costs in addressing Stornoway Primary's issues with space especially in terms of the gym.

On Wednesday's Policy and Resource committee, Stornoway North councillor Gordon Murray raised the issue and asked for a report on the costs of an upgrade of the facilities at Stornoway Primary that is equal to provision in other island schools.

Councillor Murray stated: "representation have been made from the concerns of parents of Stornoway Primary with regards to the size of the gym, changing facilities and storage. I am delighted that a costing will be presented to the council early next year, As the Comhairle agrees, confirmed by the convenor on 24th June at full council,  that every child should have equal opportunity and are committed to achieving the best outcomes for children, young people and families, we are confident that the parents' campaign for adequate facilities for their children will be successful."
