With a new audio system in place in the council chamber where all debates and meetings are held, the Western Isles council were challenged to put audio recordings of all meetings onto the council website in a bid to greater engage the community they represent.
The website currently provides details of decision reports and minutes but does not give details of the full debate and the contributions elected members make.
Councillor Gordon Murray said : "We really need to better engage with the community and so on particular issues, they know we are fully debating issues and the decision-making process is open and transparent"
The recordings of meetings are to be on the website by the next set of committee meetings in February 2014.
