The Western Isles council SNP Group are delighted to hear that Police Scotland have decided to listen to their case for retaining the traffic warden.
The group met with Dr Alasdair Allan MSP on Monday to express concerns over the situation.
Understanding the economic restraints due to the cuts from the Westminster government providing they context to the original decision, the group made the case to the Western Isles MSP that there be a retention of the Traffic Warden in the Western Isles.
"Our traffic warden is a hard working individual who has an excellent reputation and carries out her duties with great care and dedication. Also the loss of any job in the Western Isles has repercussions to the local economy which is fraught with its own challenges in these times."

In contrast, the SNP group would like to distance themselves from the shameful comments made by the Western Isles Labour Party where a party spokesman stated that the police were above the law and asked how the Police could be believed "when they changed their minds whenever they want."
