The Western Isles council SNP group extended an invitation to
Councillor Angus McCormack in his role as Chair of the Western isles Poverty
Action Group to hear the work Angus Brendan Macneil MP has been doing to
address the island’s poverty issues and to support our future campaign.
A spokesman for the group said,”It is never too late to
work together to right these wrongs. Our group is able to meet regularly with
both MP and MSP because we arrange meetings around the availability of our
parliamentarians. We are happy to undertake to inform you of our next such
meeting and will be pleased to extend you an invitation.”
Despite campaigning against Scotland having powers over welfare
and just recently championing austerity through his support for London Labour and in December voting against the SNP's Living Wage amendment to council,
Mr McCormack has been invited in his role as Chair of the local Poverty Action
Group to join the SNP’s campaign fighting poverty.
