The ongoing
issue at Buth Barraigh has quite rightly been brought to the attention of the
public.
In this
issue and others, the SNP Group has always sought compromise and finding
solutions where our community can grow and progress positively together.
With Buth
Bharraigh, Councillors Donald Manford and Calum Macmillan brought forward an
amendment on the 26th September to suspend the longstanding decision
to demolish, a sincere attempt to allow time for both parties to find
compromise in this difficult situation. Both councilors had previously
requested that the Comhairle deal with this item in public which was denied.
SNP Group
leader, Cllr Gordon Murray stated: ”SNP Councillors Manford and Macmillan have
acted, as they always do, in the best interest of their community in seeking
compromise and a positive way forward.”
